You Don’t “Owe” A Thing

“Even after all this time,
The sun never says to the earth,
“You owe me.”
Look what happens with a love like that.
It lights the whole sky.”
~ Hafiz

The sun faithfully greets each day, bringing warmth and light to the planet. Our life could not exist without her, yet her presence, more often than not, goes by completely unnoticed.

Like pure unconditional love, she rises with each day and blesses the world silently. Shining faithfully to those below her. Steadfast and loyal, she beams. Big and bright for all to see, bringing priceless gifts with the dawn.

How big is a love like that? A love so big it is always there. Forever present, faithful, loyal and shared with all.  So many will never get to know a love like that – a love so perfect, so pure. A love that costs nothing and is there for all to take. That is a beautiful love, and that love will never, ever say, “you owe me”.

The one thing we have always been searching for, has been right in front of us the entire time. How beautiful is a love like that?

  3. Dear Heather, I’m not sure why my first comment did not come through, but I will try again. Some people just have big hearts, Heather. And with this gift they’re very often able to feel, offer and show far more love than they receive from those around them. Which, at times, is a heavy load to bear. So today I’d like to remind them, and especially you, that the sun asks not that the moon and planets help brighten each day, but relishes her role as a keeper of the light and a bringer of the dawn. A role much like your own. Thank you for being such a bright light in my life and so many around you. I love you, mom

    • Simply stated and beautiful. I do take after my mother in so many ways. I love you mom, and thank YOU for always beaming down on me, even during times I may forget to acknowledge you! How blessed am I 🙂
